I will go through the step by step flow of your entire day and make sure you have all the information you need to have a perfect day.

Hosted every resort in Norther California but Homewood.

1) Getting Ready.

Equipment: Please be very careful moving equipment. We have some very expensive ski/snowboards. If you do not feel like dealing with other people’s stuff, ask us to move it for you.

  • “Please make sure you are getting your equipment. Lots of rental equipment looks exactly the same. Double check to make sure it is your stuff. Take all your stuff and only your stuff” :-)

I have had people take someone else’s equipment by mistake. (ruins two peoples day)

  • “Remember which bin your gear was in and make sure that it goes in the same one this afternoon”.

First out, should be last in. This is only necessary if you have multiple dropoff points on the return trip back.

  • “When you unload your gear, do not lean skis or boards against the bus and skiers, once you put your boots on you can’t come back in the bus since your boots will scuff the floor, sorry”

If you have a snowboarder in your group ask them or one of us.

if you are renting please give yourself extra time to return your gear. long lines

Clothing: Must have Glasses / Goggles: Snow blindness is dangerous because of the high elevation. If you are missing gloves or other things you might be able to ask “lost and found” to borrow them. You can also get them at the rental office or ski-shop.

Sunblock: Make sure you have sun block because of the high elevation. We have some and you can get some at the ski-shop. You need this even on cloudy days. (UV protection)

Water: If we have water ( Mention sponsors)

We have water up here for you. Make sure you stay hydrated on the hill.

Food: We will not be stopping for dinner. Please plan accordingly with lunch and extra food.

- “@ 3:30 and we’ll have hot cocoa, soda, water and snacks.

(and wine or beer — if present that day). (maybe offer leftover breakfast bagels)

Cell Phone: I ask that you take your cell phone with you just in case anyone needs to contact you. But if you leave your cell phone on the bus, please turn it OFF. The driver has been awake all morning and needs to sleep. They will turn off your cell phone in a way you might not like!

Bus:- “The bus will not be accessible at all during the day, so be sure to bring everything with you that you may need during the day. Lockers are available.” The bus will open at 3:30pm. — “Also, make sure you know where the bus is at the end of the day. Same place as where it dropped you off.”

- Tell them where the Rental shops are.

-> Getting your tickets. — for “Bus Onlys” — call their names on the bus — Ask them to raise their hands. You are ready to go. First on the hill and do not need to wait for tickets. YOU JUST GO

<HOST #1> will be handing out all the “Adult” tickets and I will be handing out all the pkgs, seniors, rentals, etc.” If you are getting a lift ticket, make sure you get it.

  • Explain how the tickets work: RFID tags — between the shoulders and knees. Wickets have to be placed on the jacket then peel the ticket and wrap.If they put the ticket on the wicket first, we can give you a tie wrap to attach to your jacket.
  • The rental / meal tickets look the same as a lift ticket. As we make sure, you also make sure your tickets are correct in number and function. If you leave with the wrong number -or- function of tickets, it will ruin your day. A few extra minutes here can make all the difference!

Trail Maps: Please review the trial map. I have had beginners stuck on the top of a double black diamond and had to wait for the end of the day so ski patrol can get them. They almost missed the bus home. We have trail maps -or- you can get them from the ticket office.

Teens: Please give me your release forms. You are not allowed to ski/snowboard alone.

2) On the Hill

Again, the bus is closed and the drive will not be available.

- “If you are injured and go to First Aid, please tell them that you are with the “Bay Area Ski Bus”

We will be checking First Aid throughout the day and at the end of the day.

If you need to contact me, I will be leaving my number with the First Aid office.

3) Returning Home

Everyone needs to be back on the bus by 4:15 to depart by 4:30pm. Please be aware of the time late in the day, esp. if you are on the back side, so that you make it back on time. Ski on the front side or on chairs closest to the bus after 3:00pm”

  • “Also, make sure you know where the bus is at the end of the day. Same place as where it dropped you off.”
  • When you get back, place your equipment in the same side bin as now. First out should be last in.
  • We will have refreshments here @ ~3:30 and we hope you come and enjoy them. It will be the last time we provide anything to eat.
  • Anyone not returning make sure I have your name or I will be calling you non-stop ….

@ 4:15 I do headcount and 4:30 we leave with or without you. Please be considerate of everyone here and be back on time.

On our way back I will be announcing the stops a few minutes ahead of time.

For the teens on the bus I will give you ½ hour heads up to call your parents to come get you.

I am here if you have any questions & Be Safe & Have Fun!
